FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
May I ask your political party and views on BLM and our President?

I was born a Democrat to parents that married in 1957. I was born in 1966. I grew into an independent thinker in the late 1980’s.
I have always voted my conscience. I am currently registered as a Republican, but have crossed the lines to vote who I think can get the job done for the people locally and domestically. I am fiscally conservative, socially moderate and strongly believe in God & Country and believe we can all make it work at the end of the day.
I 100% support the US Constitution as written. I am 100% Middle America. I believe in the 1st Amendment and all that follow. I believe in common sense reform in all areas of government.
BLM as stated on their mission seems to not be about peaceful reform as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. intended. I am with common sense people that do not tear down, vandalize, or intimidate to have their way with society. I believe America is still a great Country despite our imperfect past. It’s what we do moving forward that Counts!
I am for open statesmanship debate that is respectful and often ends in good public policy.
I stand with President Trump on many issues but think he can be bombastic at times. I think the current state of affairs of politics can be sickening especially on the national level, but I remain faithful that we can do great things locally if we continue to talk to each other and find common goals that up lift our local community.

Do you plan on keeping an eye on your own deputies as well as your county if elected? Do you see any need in changes for the DCSO?

Yes I do. A great leader needs to be connected to those they are leading.
All Deputies represent the Sheriff when the Sheriff can't be there.
Clearly expressed expectations should be communicated from a coaching stand point. Those expectations have to be followed up on a regular basis.
Building trust among the team is paramount.
I will evaluate what I have once there and develop a plan forward.
I would like to lead the Sheriff's Office to become a State Accredited Agency. This ensures that all policies are current up to date and best practices and ensures transparency.
Great question.
